Sarkozy Invites President Hu to France: Report
Chinese President Hu Jintao (R) meets with his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy on April 1, 2009 on the sideline of the G20 Summit in London. French President Nicolas Sarkozy will invite his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao to France, a top official said in Beijing Monday, three weeks after the two nations resolved a bitter row over the Dalai Lama. France's presidential office has confirmed the invitation, China News Service quoted Nouvelles D'Europe as reporting. An invitation letter was expected to be handed over during the ongoing visit of Bernard Accoyer, president of the National Assembly in Paris, China's top legislator Wu Bangguo told journalists, but without naming a date, said an ealier report from AFP. "The development of relations with France is a firm policy," said Wu. Accoyer is the first high-ranking French official to visit Beijing since a bitter row erupted four months ago when Sarkozy angered China by meeting the Dalai Lama. In a meeting between Sarkozy and Hu on the sidelines of the G20 meeting in London earlier this month, the two nations agreed to put the disagreement behind them and work for better relations. 此文章由小虹提供,佳禾外语进行整理。
